Get Ready for SPRING!

Okay all of you artists out there! No more excuses. Spring will be here tomorrow. Enough of this hybernation stuff! Get out and enjoy the wonders of the season. Yes, it might still be a little chilly and probably a bit more rain is on the way, but have no fear.

If you're in the Raleigh area this weekend, please stop by the store. Patti Brady starts her three day workshop tomorrow, Friday, March 20th. (We still have space left, so sign up now!) And her book signing is scheduled here from 6-8pm also on Friday the 20th. Stop by and meet the artist/author of the new acrylic book, "Rethinking Acrylic" - radical solutions for exploiting the world's most versatile medium. You'll be so enlightened and armed with the correct knowledge, trust me!

We also have a book signing with Nick Meglin, author of "Drawing From Within" set up for Saturday, March 21st from 1pm-4pm. He is a wonderful artist and instructor. You'll understand what I mean once you speak with him! This book is a great tool for all artists that think they need to draw in a particular manner or like a particular artist. Free yourself and come on in for a little inspiration from Nick.

Loving this WEATHER!

What a fantastic weekend! Spring Fever is definitely in the air. Friday night, we enjoyed the First Friday Festivites. Starting out at Nicole's Studio to check out the "Up and Coming" show, we met up with some friends and headed over to Flander's Gallery. There we were totally impressed by Mia Yoon's colorful exhibit of painted papers. Next stop was Visual Art Exchange for the current "Pulp" show. This is quite an exciting show. Very innovative creations, all on paper. This is a "must see" for all. Next stop was Adam Cave Gallery where the talent of the evening was Will Goodyear's collection of mixed media paintings.
The art scene in this town just ceases to amaze me! It's really exciting to see the talent just keep on growing. I hope you're able to get out and about for at least some of these current shows.
Saturday, Joe and I took a drive to Southern Pines to visit Artist Alley. This quaint, artsy boutique is the home of Carolina Mixed Media Art Guild's current challenge, Mixed Media Madness Mission: Art Possible (M4 Challenge). Check out the review of this wonderful show at Triangle Art Review.
If you need a bit of art inspiration for your own work, visit our workshop schedule at Jerry's Artarama in Raleigh for March. We also have FREE DEMOS in the store for your free artistic spirit! Please join us!

Congratulations Tom!

Congratulations Tom Dowd for your endless efforts in raising money for the St. Baldrick's event for kids with cancer! I can't wait to hear the final tally and get a glimpse of you BALD one more time. WAY TO GO!

We had a crazy weekend here at the Raleigh retail store! Joe DiGiulio taught his two day "Exploring Mixed Media Abstractions". The students were doing alot of painting in the classroom and coming out with some great pieces! Oh so colorful!
Take a look...

I had a "Free Photo Transfer Demo" and had quite the turn out! Thank you to all who attended. I did find out that the Laser print worked out just great. Again, I think it has everything to do with the toner...Thanks PD for the image and suggestion!

And today, Wyn Easton is offering a FREE DEMO on oil painting with his favorite Lukas 1862 Oils. He'll be here until 4pm, so come on by before all the snow starts falling! You don't need milk and bread anyway! Stock up on your supplies so you can PAINT!

Thanks and see you next time.
